‘One India – One Ticket’: Initiative launched to promote tourism

Published On:

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) have joined hands to launch the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative.

This collaborative effort is designed to improve the travel experience for passengers using Indian Railways and NaMo Bharat trains.

By integrating services, the initiative aims to simplify the ticketing process, making it more convenient and efficient for passengers across India.

Easy booking and flexible options

One of the key features of the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative is that passengers can book NaMo Bharat train tickets directly through the IRCTC platform. This integration allows for a seamless booking experience, eliminating the need to navigate multiple platforms.

Further, the initiative offers flexible cancellation and payment options, ensuring that passengers get more control over their travel plans.

This flexibility is particularly beneficial for travelers with uncertain schedules as it reduces the stress associated with rigid booking systems.

Unique QR Code for Ticket Validation

As part of the initiative, IRCTC has introduced a unique QR code system for NaMo Bharat train tickets. Once the ticket is booked, passengers can generate a QR code that will validate their ticket.

This code is valid for a period of 4 days around the selected travel date, providing additional convenience to passengers in case of last minute changes or delays.

The QR code can be easily scanned at stations, simplifying the boarding process and reducing the need for paper tickets.

Alignment with existing systems

The ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative has been carefully aligned with the existing reservation systems of Indian Railways. Passengers can book their NaMo Bharat tickets up to 120 days in advance, matching the current reservation window available for Indian Railways.

This alignment ensures that passengers can plan their journey well in advance, whether traveling by conventional trains or NaMo Bharat Trains.

By integrating booking systems, the initiative aims to create a more consistent travel experience, making it easier for travelers to navigate India’s vast transport network.
