UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification):

 

• The UNCCD is an international treaty established in 1994 to address land degradation, desertification, and drought, particularly in affected countries with arid, semi-arid, and dry sub-humid areas.

 

•It is the only legally binding international agreement that links environment and development to sustainable land management, focusing on improving living conditions for people in drylands.

 

•The convention promotes sustainable land management and works to mitigate the effects of climate change by helping countries restore degraded land, improve soil health, and enhance food and water security.

 

INS Arighaat:

 

• INS Arighaat is an Indian Naval Ship, specifically an indigenously built corvette designed and constructed in India as part of the country's naval modernization efforts.

 

• It belongs to the Khukri-class of corvettes, which are small, maneuverable warships used for coastal defense and maritime patrol operations in the Indian Navy.
