Birsa Munda

• Birsa Munda was a notable tribal rights activist and leader of the Munda community who spearheaded the Ulgulan (Great Rebellion) against British colonial rule and the exploitation of indigenous people. He fought for the rights of tribal communities, particularly in protecting their land and culture from British encroachment.

• As a religious and cultural leader, Birsa Munda advocated for the revival of the "Munda Raj," aiming to restore tribal traditions and culture. He initiated a movement to eliminate social evils such as superstition and promoted the establishment of indigenous beliefs and practices.

• Birsa Munda's rebellion (1899-1900) played a crucial role in the struggle for tribal self-rule. He was captured by the British and died in custody in 1900 at the young age of 25.

Pinaka

• Pinaka was developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). It is a system designed to provide support artillery with a high volume of fire during battlefield operations.

• The Pinaka can deliver a barrage of 12 rockets in 44 seconds, reaching targets at distances of up to 45-75 kilometers, depending on the variant. It can engage multiple targets, making it highly effective.

•It is mounted on a mobile track platform; thus, it affords high mobility with quick deployment. It is also furnished with ultramodern targeting and fire control systems which provide delicacy and reduced response time-an essence of speedy combat scenarios.
